For the 16th straight year, The Mickey’s Irish Pub in Clive is gearing up for its classic St. Patrick’s Day bash, and this one promises to be its best yet. The Des Moines area’s beloved Irish pub will again put a little piece of Ireland under its iconic outdoor tent for a full day of Irish fun — featuring live music, great Irish themed food … and of course, green beer.
Pie in the Sky, one of Des Moines’ premier party bands, will headline a solid lineup of live music for the night. Pie in the Sky has a deep repertoire of cover songs for everyone to recognize and enjoy, but the band plays the tunes their own unique way that keeps them fresh and exciting.
Rounding out the night’s musical lineup are seasoned DJs DJ Prime and DJ Metro — both household names at the biggest and best parties in the city. Bruce Day will draw listeners in with his soulful acoustic rock.
In addition to an amazing night of music, attendees can enjoy corned beef and cabbage and green beer among their fellow green clad St. Patrick’s Day partygoers.
The fun isn’t only at night, though — Mickey’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration kicks off bright and early. Those who want to celebrate with an Irish themed breakfast can treat themselves to Mickey’s famous green eggs and ham or corned beef and cabbage beginning at 6:00 a.m. Monday.
The Mickey’s Irish Pub in Clive even has you covered if you can’t make it to the downtown Des Moines St. Patrick’s Day Parade Monday — it is offering a special early happy hour starting at 11:00 a.m., with free food from Taste of Italy while it lasts.
Though the weekly forecast looks to give us some warm weather, The Mickey’s Irish Pub in Clive has made sure to equip its St. Patrick’s Day celebration tent to be comfortably heated throughout the day and night. One never knows what Mother Nature has in store, and Mickey’s is prepared for any weather that comes its way.
